There
is an acute need for young people to express themselves creatively. Youth
who are fortunate enough to be involved in theatre productions are generally
restricted to performing roles written for adults or scripts that deal
with subject matters that are not relevant to their lives.
Young
people who do have the opportunity to present their own ideas in their
own words truly learn and understand the power of theatre. The Young Players
Ensemble empowers young people by giving their voices a public forum.
By giving voice to the individual and personal experiences of these young
artists, the Young Players Ensemble allows them to identify, recognize
and come to terms with their own lives.
