INSIDE
OUT
- Maine and tour to Philadelphia, 1994
THEME
This production explored what it means to be popular and the misconceptions
that popular kids are perfect with no problems. The cast wrote a mystery
centering around a popular girl who goes into hiding to see if people
really cared about her, or just care about her popularity. The play includes
two wisecracking detectives and some magic.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROGRAM
The Young Players Ensemble brought three Scottish cast members to America
who had never been more than 40 miles outside of their hometowns to be
a part of this production. INSIDE OUT toured to a local theatre in Philadelphia
as part of an artistic cultural exchange, participating in an entire weekend
of activities hosted by the Boerse Theater.
Liam, 12, who had acted in community theatre in Edinburgh but never had
any formal training found the opportunity to hone his natural abilities
and learn dramatic technique through YPE and eventually won a role in
"Oliver" in the West End in London.
