THE
COLOR OF THE SKY
- Maine, 1992
THEME
The multinational cast explored themes of prejudice by creating a story
based on Romeo and Juliet. The result was a highly original play creating
two fictitious societies of the Night People and the Day People. Both
societies had fears, misconceptions and hatred of the other until an eclipse
brought both sides together, providing a backdrop for a girl from the
Day People and a boy from the Night People to fall in love. Their determined
struggle to be together follows the timeless theme of love.
HIGHLIGHTS
OF THE PROGRAM
After watching a few rehearsals, 15-year-old Kevin was inspired to create
incidental music for the production. He ended up writing an entire original
score, giving him enough confidence in his abilities to continue studying
music. He produced his first CD when he was 19 years old about peace and
diversity.
